A Vision candidate gets support from DeGenova

August 13th, 2008 · No Comments

Skateboarder advocate Sarah Blyth is going to announce her candidacy for a Vision Vancouver park board slot tomorrow at the Douglas Park community centre. For more about Sarah and her interesting bio, go to her blog. An interesting tweak to all this is that she’s going to be intro’d by Allan DeGenova, the would-be Vision mayor, whose daughter Melissa has decamped to the Non-Partisan Association to run on their park-board slate. DeGenova has been lying low after his disappointing (and extremely expensive) bid for the mayoral nomination, saying for the moment that he’s not endorsing either mayoral candidate. He’s said he’ll support his daughter — and I presume will now support Sarah at Vision, a nice thank you for all the work that Sarah put into his campaign. Andrea Reimer will be another one of Sarah’s introducers. Good cross-boundary networking there.

Sarah’s thing is at 7 p.m. tomorrow (Wednesday).
