Hi, I'm Joe Hatoum, running for mayor of vancouver 2008, and I obviously won't win this time around, but that's not what my campaign is about.

I want to bring awareness to the sewage problem which has been growing for decades, to the point of extreme environmental detestation which at this rate we will not be able to recover from and the inheriting generations of our communities will not be able to enjoy seafood or beaches like I did when I was younger.

I invite you to review the facts and see where you stand.

Also, right next door and in Vancouver's biggest park are five candidates running for the position of Metro Vancouver Director Electoral Area A (UBC/UEL, Boywer, Passage, Barnston Islands).

The candidates are:

Maria Harris (UEL ratepayer)
Charles Menzies (UNA resident)
Matthew Naykor (UBC Student)
Fred Pritchard (UNA resident)
Ben West (Green Party)

Three of the candidates have long term roots on the UBC/UEL area -Harris, Menzies and Pritchard. All of whom are long term residents and actively involved in the community in a variety of ways.

One is a student who has been active in UBC student politics and currently lives on campus -Naylor.

The Green party candidate, according to Park Board candidate Stuart Mackinnon's nomination papers lives on 5th avenue and is thus the sole non-resident candidate.

I want to know his postion on coleus, rhododenrens, acers and daffodils. Also, does he actually garden in the nude? What happens, exactly, when he has to deal with blackberry brambles?
