Right on Ian. What a shame. It is unfortunate that there are so many neophytes on the Vancouver Parks Board who are probably being lead by political rather than practical ideals.

Ian is a man of integrity, and the political side of the Park Board job never played much of a role in his decisions during his last tenure.

He was terrific at working with everyone on both sides, so this will be very frustrating for him. His roots in community sports and community centres run deep --- he has more knowledge of what makes Parks tick than any of the other members (except perhaps Loretta Woodcock, with whom he had a great relationship).

Sad to see small business folks who put their hearts and souls into their businesses being jerked around like this. But very satisfying, no doubt, to CUPE union leader Paul whats-his-face who attended every community centre meeting during the meeting. When not snarling into the microphone, he sat there, arms crossed, smiling and winking at the VV candidates.

Reminded me of Boss Hogg...
