DeGenova campaign organizer sticks with Vision

September 5th, 2008 · No Comments

People have been watching carefully to see where moderates/federal Liberals who were with Vision Vancouver are going in the wake of Peter Ladner’s takeover of the Non-Partisan Association from (the more Conservative affiliated) Sam Sullivan, combined with Allan DeGenova’s subsequent resounding defeat to become a mayoral candidate for Vision.

Ian Baillie, who had previously worked with Liberal MP Sophia Leung, was one of the key workers on Allan’s campaign, along with Bill Cunningham. There was some speculation about whether he was going to go back to the NPA, as many other DeGenova people did. But, no, he’s going to be doing the communications work for the Vision campaign. Baillie says he joined Vision two years ago (unlike his boss, DeGenova, who was still trying to get his membership processed within days of the nomination vote) and he’s sticking with them.

That adds one more to the team of Mike Magee/Bob Penner, at the core of Vision, and, we hear, potentially Ron Stipp.
