I loved the reviews on citycaucus and this site. I heard Frances did an exceptional job, but this is hardly a surprise.

What made me laugh was the spinning going on at the Vision propaganda site, run by little you know who.... I loved Miro's contributions and am not surprised that Monte Paulsen came up with the most astute comments and held Vision to account.

Sorry I missed it, I was renewing a gun license for some friends. No, I'm not kidding. Who's surprised, anyone? Of course not. Ransford wanted that announced. "It would have gotten the biggest applause!", he claims.

FROM MICHAEL GELLER

First of all, I was delighted to hear Alex has been so helpful. Let's hope there will be a whole new spirit of cooperation and collaboration in the city as we enter year two of the Council regime.

Since you missed the first session on Saturday, and for anyone else who missed the whole thing, there are accounts of the community forum at Citycaucus and civicscene.ca (which is also reprinted on Vancouver Observer). I have also posted an abbreviated account on my blog.

Another Community Event: In case you are not aware, there is another community forum this evening in Dunbar....as part of the Dunbar AGM

What role should the public have in the civic and provincial decision-making processes that affect our neighbourhood....

moderated by Ian Hanomansing, and including David Berner, Colin Hanson, Allen Garr and Jane Ingman-Baker.

It's at St. Philips Church, starting at 7.

And my damning of my own town is well-known to those who care.

" . . . lively, intelligent and provocative media panel under the direction of an expert moderator. "

Whoooo-ah!

That's called damning with faint praise . . .

Where's the passion for your own town?

Is that the best you can do?

The city deserves more . . .

One complaint that stood out for me was the suggestion that Vision is not making a visible effort - in its first year - to coordinate its plans with the rest of Metro Vancouver.

Otherwise, it was a lively, intelligent and provocative media panel under the direction of an expert moderator.
