As a resident of Whistler, I am concerned that Fortress has until Oct 23 to bail out Intrawest (Whistler Blackcomb) and a German form called Gagfah. Is it possible that a US firm may hold the mortgage for Whistler's Athletes Village and could the same thing happen here with excessive cost overrruns? Interesting....

I buried mine in a tin can in the back yard years ago. Trouble is, I forget where. I suspect I put the compost bin on top of it. Maybe the rats have gnawed through to those tasty old $2 bills.

I'm keeping all my money in my mattress, until further notice.

Or the tea leaves or Magic Eight Ball advise otherwise.

While it sounds like the financing in place is sound, should help be needed, I think there are a number of large investors with cash who would welcome the possibility of buying into the project -- particularly if the units are not pre-sold (and it's my understanding that they not all of them are). Long term, what an investment opportunity - a mid-rise tower on the waterfront! Hold and prosper.
