Vancouver temple president considers a run for council

For those of you who didn’t see this already (get your subscription to the Globe, folks, step right up), I had a story in today’s Globe and Mail with Ross Street temple president Kashmir Singh Dhaliwal talking about his decision on whether to run with Vision Vancouver. VV would desperately love to have him, given his federal Liberal connections and his role in the community, but he’s got some hesitations, given the sad history of South Asians in getting elected in civic politics here. Charlie Smith at the Georgia Straight wrote the definitive piece on the string of electoral defeats for South Asians a few years ago.
