RCMP “have exhausted” many leads in Ladner-Beaudry case

August 25th, 2009 · No Comments

Several people alerted me recently to a column that Michel Beaudry wrote in the Whistler Pique where, in part of it, he said the RCMP liaison he’s been talking to said recently that police have exhausted all their leads when it comes to investigating the murder of his wife, Wendy Ladner-Beaudry, and don’t know what to do next. (Column here.)

The RCMP’s Cpl. Dale Carr didn’t paint quite as dire a picture as that, but he did say they have chased down a lot of leads and gotten nowhere with those so far, though there are others.

My story on all this is in the Globe here. A hard time for the family, who still get new and conflicting information every week about what happened — sometimes in the most unexpected circumstances. Peter Ladner told me at the folk festival this year that when he parked himself down for the evening concert the first night, the woman behind him was one of the first people on the scene when Wendy’s body was found. She offered him some details that police hadn’t. More mystery piled on the myster.
